Mikheil Samsonadze – Doctor of Historical Sciences (1984), Head of Department of History of Labor Collectives at Ivane Javakhishvili Institute of History and Ethnography of the Georgian Scientific Academy (1985-2002), Head of the Department of Nearest History at the same Institute (2002-2006).
One of the founders and member of the Board of Scientific Centre for Historical, Ethnological, Religious Studies and Propaganda (2006 - present).
Sphere of scientific interests: Social-political and social-economic problems of Georgia in the late middle centuries, foreign orientation problem of Georgia in the 19th century, peculiarities of genesis and development of capitalism in Georgia, near and the nearest history of Georgia, economical problems of Georgia in the 19th century, etc.
